garlic – we don't need to tell you who to use up this little gem.

(keep in a dark/dry place)

zucchini – have you tried this zucchini bread recipe yet? How about a zucchini grilled cheese?

(store in the fridge in a plastic bag)

kale – don’t forget to give it a little massage and remove the stem.

(store in the fridge)

carrots – we like ‘em raw with dip!

(Remove the carrot tops (they leach moisture from the roots) before storing them both in plastic bags in the fridge)

cucumbers – we like ‘em sliced with a little salt

(store in the fridge)

sage – use fresh now or hang dry for later – thanksgiving!

(tuck it into a glass with an inch of water at the bottom and leave on the counter or in fridge)

thyme – use fresh or hang dry to use later. We like to sprinkle the leaves over tomatoes that we roast in the oven.

(tuck it into a glass with an inch of water and keep on the counter)

rosemary - a beautiful, aromatic herb. Use it fresh or dried in recipes

(tuck into a glass with an inch of water and keep on the counter, or hang to dry for later)

beans – beans beans beans! We love beans! you should really try pickling some!

(store in a bag in the fridge)

tomatoes – aren’t they gorgeous!? You should try out the tomato galette recipe below.

(store on the counter, never in the fridge)

onion – finally the onions are ready!!

(store in a dark, dry place)

beets – check out his post on how to cook beets, 3 ways. And this tasty looking recipe for French “peasant beets”

(remove tops and store in the fridge)

ground cherries - one of our absolute favourite fruits! Remove the out husk when it becomes papery and pop the entire orange fruit in your mouth. It's not a cherry, so there isn't a pit!

(store on your counter top)
